She was close enough I could scoop her out with my hand. She is very good at begging held and did not fuss at all as I dried her off. Thankfully that light layer of ice is melted off or that would have complicated things mightily.

Poor girl ! hairdryer on low works well. warms them and dries them. used it on a chick i had to wash blocked but hole. got his feathers all nice and fluffy fast

Thanks for thr idea. We used to blow dry Patsy as we cleaned her up. She loved it.

Phyllis was going to be out in the rain all day. I toweled her dry, she warmed up, and she was fine today.

Panic causes bad things to happen

I used this quote to help my kids understand that panic is not useful and stops you from thinking. Time enough for a melt down after the emergency

how about the liquid supplement like sav-a-chick Probiotic supplement . might be easier to absorb

I got a hand-rearing baby bird powder full of vitamins and nutrients. I cut up some grapes and strawberries so they were nice and wet and then mixed some of the powder with them. I popped it down and she ate quite a bit. I also gave her a anti-microbial tablet tonight, just need to check with my vet whether she’s meant to have one or two a day.

Everyone is Mad at Me

Farmer Bob went out and made sure everyone was fed and watered. I released the Newbies from their coop into the big run. Segregated the big run from the rest of the complex. But no one was let out to free range and they are all mad.

Lots of BAWKING and complaining. 6 mad hens make a lot of noise.

I segregated the complex again because there are too many places a Newbie could be cornered. They are going to be in the complex a lot until I return this weekend. I would rather that than an inattentive wife let them fall in the pool without rescuing soon enough.
