Added some Color and Life

I also was able to add some flowers to the coop yesterday. It buoyed my spirit a little. View attachment 2067735

It rained mercilessly this weekend. Always a downer for me. I need time outside. I also left the house for the first time in about 2 weeks, self isolation and all. Buying the flowers helped a lot.

It's Autumn here now but I thought I'd share how the Chicken garden I planted last year is going. The idea is that I plant the most chook friendly/attractive plants nearest the run and the girls can help themselves to what grows through. They like the comfrey best, but have also enjoyed the nasturtiums and wormwood.

Don't you do some glass work too? I seem to remember a dragonfly or butterfly?
What a good memory you have Ribh! Yes, I learnt to do stained glass a few years ago because I wanted a stained glass window for my bathroom. I have done some "mosaic" stepping stones with some of the left over glass.

Before that I was doing beading (made an "Egyptian" type collar) and now I'm doing felting (both wet and dry). This year I want to learn calligraphy and watercolour painting. I don't get bored in quarantine!

Yes! So lovely! I thought I remembered seeing it on FB.
I don't get bored either. If all else fails there's always the chooks. ;)

You made that window?! It’s beautiful! :love

I wonder if I have to wait until spring before Tegan and River start laying. :hmm
If they are @ POL you shouldn't. I buy deliberately @ the beginning of Autumn as it means I usually get eggs throughout winter. Unfortunately one of my new layers went broody on me after only a week or so & is still going. My favorelles are Xs but once they started laying they've been regular & consistent layers of a nice big brown egg. At least one is still laying.

Some Good News

I could see Miss Phyllis looking around the yard today. I figured she was nest hunting. In the end I don't think she figured it out. Sometime right before bedtime when I thought she was frantic to go to bed when no one else would (as usual), she dropped this in the middle of the yard.

I had to wake her for the required first egg shot. And she looks like I woke her up. :lau

It is a tiny egg.

Mrs BY Bob is so excited! Great job Miss Phyllis! :clap:wee:ya:bun
She does not look remotely impressed about being disturbed.

Thanks Shad. Do you have an academic background? You sound adept at writing reports/essays.
I do Lozzy. I was a scientists of sorts many years ago before I moved up in the world and became a bucket boy.
I have a combined degree in Mathematics and Physics and another in Material Science.
I've done a few things in between.
