Lock's an extraordinary hen. I wonder if the incidence of non-laying hens has ever been measured. I'm beginning to wonder if Ivy will turn out the same. She's 24-26 weeks old and no eggs yet. I can't estimate her age better than that.

Both River and Tegan are meant to be over a year old and neither of them are laying. Oh well, it’s not like I can give them back!

After all the challenges of Sandy's reproductive system, I'm thinking about Ivy's health. She doesn't seem to be unwell, but I'll keep watching and waiting.

You’re welcome! I was quite impressed with Tegan’s daring! Although she probably wouldn’t try it with Charlie, even though she’s not top chook. And the way she waddled off with that watermelon was hilarious!
Watching chickens run is one of the truly enjoyable things in life! :gig

Traffic Jam at the Coop Door

Everyone was lined up to go to bed tonight. However Hattie would not move and no one could get around her.

I figured out that she was worried I might give Aurora mealy worms and then she might miss out. Hattie wanted to go to bed but wasn't willing to risk it. So I headed to the house and Hattie and Aurora followed me looking for worms. Sydney and Sansa went to bed, Aurora and Hattie got worms. Everyone wins. :love
