It only seems I haven't had any luck with my flock lately. 6 birds gone in 3 months. Raising them over these years took patience, strength and a lot of loving. I feel as if I lose part of myself when I lose any of my beloved pets.
It really does. I think everyone here knows that feeling. And the guilt that goes along with "if only I'd done x"

But we all do our best for our birds and they have good lives with us no matter how long or short a time that may be.

That's why most of us have them I think. So we have eggs from happy chooks, so we don't support cage farming. We love them and receive joy from them while they are with us. That's a good thing in the long run. :hugs

Pretty sure you didn’t invent it. ;):lau
My brother once told me he saw them playing it on the TV show Malcolm in the Middle. He was shocked as he thought only we played that game. I don't remember anyone ever telling us to play it. I chose to believe that a lot of kids just thought up the same game independently.

Well said. :hugs

I just fed Jaffar, and brought him out to be with the other birds. I don't think he wanted to go back outside, he seemed a little argumentative when I picked him up. But no bugs on him today. I'm hopeful that he will fully recover, but he hasn't crowed (as a rooster should) since the fly strike. I have had chickens for 3.5 years, and I'm thinking I know nothing about them anymore!
