Figured I'd toss a wave back at you.Good morning Bob and everyone!
Oh, at 1:06 Sydney does the beak wiping thing that was the first thing I noticed our chicks doing. I assume it's normal but haven't been concerned enough to look it up. This morning's thing to look up was seeing a bit of pink push out poop. It went back in fairly quickly so I don't think I have to worry about prolapsed vent.
I am glad you were able to put up a bit of fence. We have a pool too but with the chicks in the brooder we don't have to worry about it quite yet. It does have a fence around it. Hopefully the chickens will be as uninterested in it as the guineas have been.
All right, off to catch up on the rest of the thread. *waves*
I have a cat - Nightshade - who vigorously grooms the top of my head. It can be quite painful.Rocks-Ann likes to groom my mustache. (little pecks)
All New Jersey cats are like that.@BY Bob si glad you are back. I was worrying about you all day. View attachment 2211065

That is exactly my thinking. And I like their little fluffy bellies!I think picking them up for a cuddle is good. I try to periodically handle all of them, even those who don’t like it. It seems it’s always the one who hates being handled that gets sick. If they are more accustomed to your touch, it should be less stressful if there is an actual need to handle them.
yes BOB, they do float. (I had to look it up to believe it)
Brown leghorn's name is Beetov-Hen. (because she's talented)Pretty girls! Just look at that lovely Brown Leghorn. I miss mine!
As long as you've managed to stop the bleeding he'll be fine.so far so good, today he was eating solid pellets... he still seems a bit down at times, but ttheblood and crustiness is all gone, and I think it’s regrowing ok. Slowly, but ok. I just couldn’t believe that he managed to break off a spur so soon after as well! And no clue how he did it. He actually has two spurs on each leg, Kind of like those weird Jacob sheep. I should try to get you guys a picture of the undamaged leg...
