She is up and moving around on camera. I am heading out to grab her and take a look shortly. It's becoming daylight.I waited up on purpose hoping to hear how she was doing but I won't last much longer. Hugs for you both.![]()

Looks normal but dirty. Poor Hattie needs a bum clean.Hattie Update
Hattie is up and moving and eating normally this morning. @Shadrach It was hard to get pictures of her bum. I was able to tilt her back and forth to get her to flex her tail feathers so you can see. Everything looks normal to me now. I have to clean her bum so we can get a better look as well as keep her from getting sore. There is no egg anywhere to be seen.
Yes, bored indeed. I text that on a regular basis to my mom and sisters. Is that another mistype? Should it have been 'bored' meeting.
I'm so glad those days are over for me. What a waste of time.
Wait... I thought I was mostly caught up (beside a few weeks this summer I mostly gave up on). What happened to Hattie? Egg bound?Hattie Update

Me too Bob, I couldn't sleep either.I just woke up from a night of tossing and turning. It's still dark out.
This going off their feed when moulting is not at all unusual it seems. Most of the hens here do it to a greater or lesser degree. I find them in odd places digging and searching for particular stuff. I've only managed to partiallly identify two of the items they seem to crave; one is a small bug and the other the tiniest root shoots from walnut trees. My Heart is Warm
Good Saturday morning… At least here in California. My heart is warm for two reasons as follows:

- Little Mill had started starving herself during molt just like last year. This morning I mixed a bowl of half layer crumble half baby bird formula made nice and soupy with warm water and she ate heartily! Here she is last at the bowl! I’m not sure why she won’t eat regular dry feed while she’s molting.

- Though Bridge is also molting and doesn’t want to be handled, Buttercup is completely done with her molt and does want to cuddle. It’s a shame she always has a poopy butt, because the fluff is fabulous otherwise.
I might start stealing theseA few people have mentioned that they like the names of the chickens here. Here is a list of those I can easily recall.
