You need your house done Kris. You must be exhausted and just having somewhere comfortable where you can close the door, get clean and relax will make things look better.More just completely powerless in my position here on the farm. And when our Bull innocently just wants a snack or a good scritch, I can’t be angry at him for his actions. I can be angry at the people who decide it won’t be a problem to turn them out in amongst my super lightweight chicken housing (despite having been told that they aren’t compatible).
Honestly it wasn’t a problem for almost two years, it wasn’t until I stopped managing the cattle and their feeding stopped that they got hungry enough to attempt to raid my chicken tractors. When it comes to farm operations I have no say, my opinions are ignored, and that’s what leaves me feeling helpless to defend my birds. Joke is, there wasn’t even any real grazing in this area until I ran my chickens in it heavily. Topping it off is the people moving him and the cows into basically my front yard are terrified of our bull. Never trust a male animal, they are violent... all sorts of nonsense. Yes, you need to be aware of them. He’s 2000 lbs of powerful animal, but he’s not out to get anyone. Breaks my heart, I had them basically trained to come to call, but now they are all hand shy and when they are moved it usually involves large sticks. I can’t groom them or give them butt scritches anymore. They don’t let the cattle down near the house area, but are quite willing to put them at my doorstep. Makes walking a bucket or bag of feed anywhere dangerous, because the cows are thin and hungry.
Thoughtless idiots. What if you had been under the window? Would they be sorry then? No excuses for being that careless. My gosh. I'm scared just thinking about it.Hinge is in the middle of this lot. One of the main house threw a rug out of an upstairs window just above the steps Tribe 2 shelter on. Hinge panicked and leapt from the top of the steps and landed badly in a bush. She was dragging a wing when I saw her. I'll have to get her off her perch later and check her over. She's particularly nervous of things like that having been attacked by a hawk three times.
Just a moments thought was all that was required. It's not like they don't know the chickens are likely to be down there.

People... I will take my birds over them 9/10 times! Absolutely awful behavior. I’m hoping Hinge is alright... at least for the most part the people here interact with animals large enough to be safe from things like that.Hinge is in the middle of this lot. Well that makes me feel good! I had forgotten about that. Congratulations! One small triumph today thanks to @BY Bob we have successfully removed the locking lugnuts from my truck! Thanks for the advice... it worked like a charm.
Are all those feathers due to molting or something more worrisome? Not happy.
