This young hen is responsible for all the mixed breeds here. Her name is Mini Minx. Mini Minx could pancake.

She's dead now but not forgotton. The chicks were the first cross breeds. Beano, Dandy, Otic and Where. Where isn't in the picture. She got called Where because mum and the rest would move on and Where would suddenly notice she was alone and say "where did everyone go?"

The title of this picture is "if you don't feed us something nice we'll get our dad."
It's the same three. Where, somewhere else as usual.

Here's dad. His name is Major and I still can't write his life story. He was the first here that took food from my hand and is responsible for my chicken obssession.

What great photos! Lovely picture of Major, what a rooster!

Sorry but I am still catching up and just saw this. You mean under your bed???? 😲 Do mealworms rustle around? Can you hear it? I don't think I am too squeamish but I wouldn't want any escapees in the sheets with me! On a quiet day when I am working with my redworms (they are NOT in my sleeping coop) I can hear them moving about in the veggie & carbon muck. It's a little like the snap crackle and pop of that old rice cereal. What do mealworms and their beetles sound like? :lau
I keep my mealworms under my coffee table! Not my bed I swear :lau. They are quite quiet.

Driving Tour of Hershey

It was 78°F (25.5°C) Today in Hershey, PA. Mrs BY Bob was off work today so we piled in the convertible and went to town for lunch. As we were heading into town I thought, this would make a great "look at where we live" video. So I flipped on the video camera and narrated a 7 min drive through town. The sun interferes at the end but overall I think it will give you a little idea of where we live.

Well, I hadn't intended to sleep in it, but I suppose the chooks might appreciate some company. 🤔 😜

I wonder if they would be disturbed by meal worm rustling?

I know this happened months ago, but I'm still catching up. I am sooo sorry you lost your precious Maleficent. I know you are heartbroken. We just lost our Raven to a sudden death. She had a seizure and was gone. That was what brought me back to your group here- I needed chicken therapy. We too are devastated. We'll be cremating her this afternoon. :(
Sorry for your loss. 🙁:hugs

Just spent some quality time outside after seeing a pack of Harris’s hawks stalking the chickens in the yard! Got the girls back into the coop. They’re not going to like how long they’re in there, but that was too close.

Wow. Great shot!

I'm glad you were on the ball and your ladies are safe. 👍

This won't play for me... :(

That was really interesting! Thanks! The things that struck me the most were the height of the sun at lunchtime (I'm used to a higher sun, but you're just heading into winter which would explain a lot) and the variety in the Autumn foliage, which is just beautiful. At one point you were turning left and on your left within the turn was abig old building, maybe 3 stories, and it looked like a coach house. It was across from a fancy white one with a pediment. What is that old coach house looking building?

It’s like travelling from the comfort of your own home, thank you for the tour! Looks like it was a beautiful day.

It sounds like you are “driving stick”; isn’t that the term Americans use for driving a manual car? There seems to be less and less manual cars these days, in Australia anyway. I like being able to drive a manual.
