Well he may not quite qualify as an “emotional support” animal, but if it weren’t for customs and the border situation I would certainly lend you Chickie Hawk... he would have those girls up and roosting in order in two days flat. But that would likely be the end of your stint as Rooster Bob, he’s not the sharing type. And he’s a jerk to people. Then we would all miss out on all your lovely posts. Sorry... no can do. I couldn’t deprive us all like that!
Thanks for thinking it through for me. 😆

And sometimes the soapbox just slides right under your feet... ooops

NO, your “tiny” part of not partaking in the cruelty makes a difference. Not a huge one, true, but it does make a small difference, and every person you encourage to shop local, know their farmer, and support sustainable and ethical practices makes another small difference. One day, enough of those “small” differences will add up to an actual change in industry practices. If enough people commit to small changes then big changes will one day result. Don’t minimize your contribution to this. It takes Millions of small changes to produce a big one. Every little step matters!

sorry... (puts soapbox away) couldn’t help myself that time.
Well said. :clap

Well here we go @BY Bob I’m sorry I may have started this on your thread but... here is my entry for the “ugliest chicken coop” contest! View attachment 2408287View attachment 2408288
first order of business was clearing out the dinette foam, old mattresses, cutlery, and curtains View attachment 2408290View attachment 2408291
Then removing glass mirrors and reinforcing the floor which had spongy spots that threatened to collapse under me. And throwing a secure ing layer of plywood over the dinette as well. It turns out this is a two and a half sheets of plywood and a three day project. Tomorrow I have to install the roosts, tarp the stove and fridge off, figure out how to actually secure the door as day 1’s moving seem to have thrown all the doors out of alignment. I also screwed every door and hatch shut as well, because chickens are clever.

I can just see Sammy with a Rum and coke in a tight t shirt, Dean in an ugly Hawaiian shirt smoking, and Cass with coke bottle Glasses trying to lure my cats away. If you don’t understand the references, I promise the source material really isn’t worth watching! Not all my friends have good taste when it comes to entertainment...
Why are you taking down the mirrors. Let them look at themselves and gussy up before they emerge in the morning.

I can't wait to see how this all turns out. Thanks for posting here.

I don't know. A steam clean, a little paint, add a TV? BINGO!

Jaffar is back to his old snuggling self this morning. His head glued to my shoulder as I pet him gently. (He did growl at me when I tried to pull him away, But his presence is requested in the barn/coop) I left him with the ladies, and then the concert began! (Or maybe the crowing competition) Whatever! :love :highfive: Good day to all of you fine folks!
