Oh yes indeed. Nothing wrong with the hot wires - it is just that I need to remember to turn it on each night. The fox patrolled the coop for some part of the night but never tried to break in (I assume because of the hot wire).
Last night's score was Rodents 0 : RC 2. Not exactly shock and awe but not bad. And for the first time I did not see any live mice partying all night on camera. That is potentially a big development but I am not counting my chickens (if you see what I mean) because they could all have stayed in hiding because of the patrolling fox. So I am repeating shock and awe tonight.
The chickens are still turning their beaks up at rare mouse-steak. so the run is beginning to look a bit gruesome with little mouse bodies hanging around.
There we go. Fingers crossed that you might be finally getting on top of things. Let's see how tonight goes. :fl:fl

I figured you were talking about Patsy and Lilly and I almost stick my nose in immediately because of all the people you posted that to her. Then I thought I will will let it play out. Fortunately @goldenfingers responded just as I thought she would. Way to be understanding of each other.

Her coop under the deck is quite amazing. She has done a wonderful job with her set up. :thumbsup
Agreed. It looks great. Just add a sunroom for when the girls can't free range and it would be perfect! ........and maybe a Jacuzzi.....😜

How are Hattie and Aurora doing this morning @BY Bob? And how are the flock dynamics? And of course, how are you doing, I know you were very upset seeing everything going on yesterday.
So far no issues. Aurora is still limping slightly. I can't find anything else visibly wrong with her. Her poos are actually the most normal they have been all year.

Le Rat update

Le Rat did not come by yesterday. It is already here this morning however. And since I have removed the food from the run, it has gone exploring. I am not happy about this. I think I am going to add a mechanical trap today and close the ladies out of the big run tomorrow so I can deploy it.

Oh dear. There is something odd about him/her being around in the day. Aren't rats nocturnal?
