Good grief! That is quite strange. In my defense I was not thinking that. I was thinking one tiny dab on one toe just to help identify who was whom - and of course not red or pink to discourage pecking.
It did remind me though that they sell nail caps for cats - I think people use them to stop their cats shredding the furniture. Never tried it but some people like them. I wonder if they would fit chickens.
My cats don't even tolerate a collar so I doubt they would go for this and of course shredding the furniture is their main hobby.

I had the groomer put nail caps on Davis once. They had absolutely no effect on him. He did not mind at all from what I could tell. Just once though. They did work as he could no longer scratch the furniture or carpet. I just trim his nails now.

Polish are very fancy hens though so I'm not surprised a Polish was the example.

Listen peeps, I can't just order up a new "tribe"of chickens, here in Central Cal. And it's actually very hard to replace ones I have hatched from their eggs- to me now.
FAA won't even let me fly some back from MurrayMcMurray due to the avian quarantine in CA. So I just need you all to pray for my Canna's survival. Thank you.
