Yes, she’s quite rattly and will shake her head. But she’s not infectious; no-one else is doing it and she seems to be going about her chickeny business happily. But it would be nice if I could ease her congestion for her.
Does it happen the same time every year?

I can do some Caturday pics!

OK not to freak anybody out, and I sure don't know my stuff, but could that be gape-worm? Does that have those symptoms? It would sound like her breathing is raspy but it wouldn't actually be her lungs, because the obstruction is higher than that, and there's the head-shaking, which I'm pretty sure is a symptom. Plus why would a chicken would shake her head for her lungs? Paranoid newbie here of course. Smack me down and set me straight please. I think you can see them if you look down her throat.

The last fecal float the vet did (a couple of weeks ago) had nothing in it; no worm eggs, no coccidia. I’m pretty sure it was Lucy’s poo as it was where she sleeps. She’s had no voice for 2 1/2 years and I’m speculating she had a brush with a virus that killed her sister. I took her to the vet then, wondering if it was gape worm, which it wasn’t.

My back is doing much better now, I am almost walking properly again. I’m down to just severe muscle pain for the most part and alternating hot and cold is helping. @BY Bob you wouldn’t recall my previous back issue, or our adventures with trainee paramedics (yes, they need to learn and practice somewhere!) as it happened in 2014 and I didn’t join BYC until 2018. I had another of my rescues end up ‘somewhat eggbound’ with a shelless egg she couldn’t pass yesterday. I helped her pass it by gently pulling the membrane and bringing her into the warm big coop. Walking her there hunched over in little spurts was the hardest part of the whole endeavor. She is receiving supplemental calcium daily now. I also managed to finish off making my chicken prawn gumbo (all its missing is sausage and okra) by putting a cutting board on my lap to chop the veggies. Here is a broth making shot from Wednesday night, local prawn shells and our homegrown chicken bones.
