Aww. I love that cluck cluck click. She is beautiful. I love you videos!
I was trying to video one of the chicks about 3 months back & this is what happened
That is very interesting. Can you share video of her behavior?
Have to catch her/him later today when I let them out for a couple hours .. also “fluffs up “ & tries to intimidate me Frequently

If they are dog crates, yes no problem... but I think I remember @ChicoryBlue mentioning that she was maybe going to use one of the low transport crates and that was worried about the headroom. (I could also be wrong!) Those are fine for transporting, especially skittish, high strung, or multiple birds but only for 4-6 hours tops in my opinion. The benefit is there’s not enough space for anyone to really injure themselves by moving around or pecking, but there is also literally not enough space for a bird to stand up. I think they are about ten inches or so tall. Mine look like this and hold 8-10 birds (like prefab coops, they “say” they hold more, but that’s all DH and I can lift easily together, and all I feel comfortable putting in them)

Dog crates overnight are perfect, especially the ones in the capture attempt #1 pictures. I wish I had crates like those! (I needed to quickly improvise one out of scrap wood and hardware cloth, it’s not perfect but it works, and I’m thinking I might make a slightly larger, better, and shorter one for my specific needs)
Oh yes - I have never seen a transport crate like that - I thought it was the dog crates in the picture earlier. Last year when we had a really bad couple of nights I was putting the Princesses in such a crate overnight in the garage. I built them a roost inside the crate from 2x4s. It was only a couple of inches off the floor but they were very calm snuggled up together on it.

I managed to get the car into the garage at 5am. I am ready for the storm!
:yesss: Juliet is still at the house. It was too late last night to take her to the storage unit so we will be heading off shortly. I'll let you know when it starts and ends here. That should give you some advance notice.

Stay warm!

Some Purple Corn before the Storm

I thought I'd give the ladies a warm up this morning. It's cold out without wind for the first time this winter.

Aurora is still molting badly and Sansa has started as well. Sansa does have bare spots on her bum but it looks like she can still cover it. I'm worried for Aurora and I'm going to keep an eye on her for signs she is too cold.
