Hi Ribh. She’s stable. Still sitting on her hocks and eating very little, but I proudly now have the skill of being able to tube fluids. Phew! I’ll tube feed if it comes to that. I think she’s trusting me a little more now, too.

I’m considering bringing Bridge by for a visit, but Ester’s not going outside until she’s stronger.
I'm pleased she's stabilised. I find sick birds quickly figure out you are trying to help & become much more co~operative.

Oh I am so relieved to hear that. Well done! And maybe you can tempt her to sloppy mash as well. :hugs :hugs
When you have calmed down it would be helpful to know what equipment you had on standby to be able to do that. I would like to keep a kit in my chicken medical kit.

YES! I’m officially able to tube now. The first time I was shaking horribly (as bad as the time I took the family to a ropes course, LOL). Second time was a little easier.

I hate doing it, but I can do it. I found the really skinny syringe was the easiest way to get fluids and meds down.

Next time, wait until it's dark and then put her on the roost with everybody else. You will need to repeat this for several nights but by waking up together she will start to be expected there in the am. This is going very well.
I agree it's going very well. Given some of the shenanigans we've both seen, this is excellent!

Patsy was like that. At first she did not trust me with her antibiotics but after a couple of days she was awaiting me to pick her up. She would then hang out in my lap. We got even closer during those times. 😥

Queenie seriously wants to join them and that is very good. On the Buckeyes part, they don't seem too territorial. I have high hopes for this integration.

Medh was lovely for me yesterday. She understood I was medicating & was totally co~operative ~ unlike Alpia who was a total ding~dong~ 🙄

Yes. Queenie actually seems to be doing all the right things that will make this a really smooth transition.
