Jaffar is in with me tonight, (Tonight, i don't care who knows this) he’s got his own perch and I just want him near me, so I can keep a lookout for internal injuries. He is moving slower than usual
This was the right thing to do. Please let us know how he is doing this morning. :hugs

Ask me on Tuesday? So I called the ritzy vet that @ChicoryBlue found. Chickens are fairly new to their practice. It was looking promising until the “and have we seen your chicken before?” Question. So, they aren’t accepting any new patients, it’s a closed practice, and the receptionist boy almost hung up... “please, it’s a matter of life and death for this rooster right now? He’s a very sweet guy, and I really love him. Do you maybe have any other vets that you know will consider treating poultry?” It took him mere seconds on hold to get me a very short list, and no, the offices don’t advertise as chicken friendly... 5 more vets that might see chickens. I think the list was very ‘on hand’ as I said, finding a vet has been a big issue for me. I started at the top and the very last office I called will see Roostie. My very “pet” chicken. On Monday 11am. Fingers crossed until then.
How can they in good concious refuse to see a sick animal? I don't understand that philosophy. Well I have enough animals to take care of, any other sick animals can just suffer and die. Vets just continue to fall in my eyes. Their ethics are terrible.

So, I’ve been hearing a baby goat for most of the day, got all the chicken stuff done and walked down to help with the tree, I could hear her in the draw somewhere. By the time I was coming home it was dusk and the bleating was constant, with no mama to be seen and my Ravens circling and getting a little too happy. I got a visual on her. It was a very tough slope and she was tucked under a rootball of a (smaller) tree. I don’t think she was able to cross the stream and got left behind. She isn’t taking to improvised nipples, or cow milk. But she’s pretty healthy looking and should be ok until I can get her a proper bottle tomorrow morning. She is one of the feral goats. Just glad she is a “she”.
I new there had to be more story. You are a good lady. What is the long term plan? Are you going to try and locate the mother, gift it to someone who has goats?

Remember @Kris5902 claims (I emphasize claims!) to be on the 'less cuddly' side of animal husbandry. So I am sure she will say that she will send the kid to freezer camp by the end of the month
In reality I suspect that little bundle of chaos will live a long and happy life inside Kris's bedroom. It certainly looks like it has already settled in.

I have made it to page 1900, less then 900 pages to go! I might really catch up some day. Now off to sleep. Here is a kitty pic for you all, my poor fluffy butts spent the day hiding from the downpours we have been having.View attachment 2479251
What a gorgeous kitty! Looks very comfy. I love the progress updates!

I really love all these stories! Can anyone help me out by helping me identify the sex of my 11 week old chicks? I treasure anyone's opinion!!! Here is the link.https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/help-my-chicks-are-11-weeks-old-any-ideas-not-cockerals-i-hope.1437919/#post-23811994
I likely all pullets. The white one gives me a little pause. I posted on your thread that I would look at posture. They are likely all pullets as I did not see any rooster posture in any of the pictures.

I had to be sure he would eat and drink something, and carefully check for any physical damage. He just seems frightened, so this chicken daddy is here for him. I found nothing. No bruises, cuts scratches or bite marks. He did actually eat a few pieces of liver, left from my dinner. Thanks Kris
Excellent news! Let us know where the perimeter breakdown was. Scary.
