On a chicken note I made it home ( rather the sun stayed up) just long enough for my girls to greet me as I got home from work.
I even managed to toss a couple of fresh grubs from under the cardboard I have out trying to kill the yucky grass.

What are those top two? So pretty!I believe that itâs the parents primarily responsible for the welfare of the children, and less a matter of âowningâ them, to be clear. And that itâs basically no one elseâs business, right up until you are hitting the point of extreme indoctrination (as you see in cults) which threatens the physical welfare of a minor. So basically any faith group encouraging or participating in child marriages below the legal age of consent, or activities that are actually physically harming the child. Bountiful BC, and the Heavens Gate Cult come to mind for me. Or children being trained/exploited as soldiers or weapons. Things like that. There a whole lot of grey areas between those sorts of extremes and just say raising your child as Catholic, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, or even as a Satanist. Where can you draw a clear line between being raised in a super conservative sect of a faith, and a damaging cult? For me at Harm to the Child.View attachment 2412795View attachment 2412811View attachment 2412817View attachment 2412822

I'm going to be his medical foster. He broke both back legs, will need one amputated, and one will have pins placed in it. No idea what happened, but he is only 10 months and super friendly so the rescue is giving him a chance.

These are his x-rays. He has another consult with a surgeon on Monday. Hopefully he'll have surgery ASAP and then he'll recover here. The rescue is providing every thing he needs. I'll just tend to his medical issues and aid in his recovery.
Those are my double laced Barnvelders. A little skittish in temperament, which may be a local line thing... 2 pullets out of 8 chicks. Iâm really good at winning the cockerel lottery. What are those top two? So pretty!
