I am trying to use teaspoons for you
Thanks so much... I know it isn’t ideal, but it’s what I was able to get. I’m thinking I can either dissolve it in some water and syringe it into him directly, which will suck, or mix it into a paste or some such. The thicker liquid is easier to administer. I kept thinking I was drowning him with the enrofloxacin, and it wasn’t always all going into him either. If I need to I can get a more accurate scale that will do partial grams (kicking myself for not getting it when we took him to the vet, but was trying to avoid extra expenses after dropping so much cash on him at once) if we need anything more accurate than 1g increments it will have to start on Friday, as we can’t get a better scale until Thursday.
I am going to try and convert to teaspoons. Hopefully you have that.

I think that may just be the new Thread Motto! We all keep saying it:gig Or “How did I end up so many pages behind?” Can’t a person even go to sleep while trying to keep up with this Thread?
I feel like it should be on a mug or t-shirt. Perhaps we could just start abbreviating it. S.H.R.A.

Thanks, I’m trying (quite unsuccessfully) to not hijack Bob’s thread too much... as I’m sure Shad isn’t as well, but this is where all our support and knowledgeable chicken friends are so... and we are all so invested in each other’s flocks. I had my own Thread, but with keeping up here and the pressures of farming it’s fallen by the wayside for now. I just live here with Bob and friends really!
I want the thread to be this. We help each other in every way possible. No worries about hijacking the thread.

When I was giving Peggy liquid antibiotics, I dropped it onto cheese and once the cheese had soaked it up, I offered it to Peggy. She scoffed it down every time.

Does Roostie like cheese?

he loves it! I was wondering if the cheese would be ok with the antibiotics. I found out that enrofloxacin doesn’t agree with dairy, so I have avoided that since...

I see what you mean. In Peggy's case she rubbed her stitches in dirt every day and never developed an infection, so the antibiotics definitely worked ok despite the cheese.

You could try a tiny piece of bread too.
