The worst part was the suddenness. There was no time to get used to the idea that I may lose her. She was just suddenly really unwell.

Here she is being uniquely herself. Repelling all boarders from the coop (Except for Deana).

On a related note, Hubby tells me that it was very quiet in the coop when he let everyone out this morning.

Did any of you know, that if you rub a roosters waddles, as they lay calmly on your chest, will fall fast asleep ? Works every time with my two Roos ! If indoors, they won’t crow till taken outside. Maybe it’s just my Roos that do this

Yup, why do you think Drummie has me wrapped around his toes. You know how chickens melt in patches of sun to sun bathe, he'll melt like that in my lap when I rub his waddles, and promptly take a nap for a few minutes. And the noises he makes, its the closest thing to a cat purring without it actually being a cat. I love it. Bumblebee is learning, he wont melt in my arms just yet *he's a teenager and its embarrassing to do that in front of the ladies you know". But he will sit in my lap and let me rub them or massage his crop area while sitting proudly. Speaking of waddles, thanks to one of my neighbors daughters last summer i have a hard time referring to them as waddles. She was over petting my chickens and asking 1000 of questions like all 5 years old do. Then she points out Drummie's waddles, and goes, "those are called Gobblers right." I laughed until I cried and a lot of times catch myself calling them Gobbler's myself.

Someone ventured out in the snow. For a couple of steps at least!
Seriously, why have all my emojis gone? I like BYC emojis, it makes me sad. Also why can’t I post full size pictures? Something has changed with BYC!

I kept looking for chicken, opened the picture full size and laughed, more coffee please!

Can’t sleep anymore tonight. I can’t wait fir the shipment of chicks to show in town today. I will be increasing my family with new chicks. Gezz, seems like I’m an expectant father, waiting for his babies to be born.
Yes I have everything ready for them . Brooder box, heat source, water, chick feed. And a lifetime of love waiting for them in my country paradise!
