OhhhhChick poo does not always completely clear the fluffy nether regions. A little gets stuck in their fuzz and the heat lamp bakes it hard and the build up starts until the bum is baked shut.

That's Barred Rocks for you. One reason for loving them!My second visitor has no problem negotiating the pathways. Sydney made her way over late in the afternoon, enjoyed her snack, and made her way back, no muss, no fuss.
You have some serious fluffy bums there. Just lovely.
When it happens you can't just pull it off either. You have to slowly soak it off or else you can remove their little bum along with it.Ohhhhthat's good to know.
They are so amusing with the snowAnother Taxi Carry Today
I opened the complex today for any hen that wanted to brave the evil pool cover and come to the deck. 2 of them braved the trip all the way to house.
In the video below, Hattie and Sansa were 1/2 way when Aurora flew all the way from the coop to where you see her when the video starts. She actually flew right over the other 2. Wings have not gotten this kind of usage here ever before. All of a sudden everyone is a real bird.![]()

As the others found there way back Phyllis stayed and snacked. After she was done she went to head back. Now Phyllis normally goes down 1 step and jumps into the box next to the steps and head back being the deck box. She went to do the same today
Down one step
Turn left
Jump into the box and
SNOW!
She jumped right into the snow. After much flapping and squawking she had gotten back on the deck.
Now she was discombobulated. She started circling the deck complaining. Lucky for her, the human track was around. I came out, called her over, scooped her up and back to the coop she went.

Say what you will but Sydney really is my "no muss, no fuss" hen. She just gets her stuff done without all the drama. That's Barred Rocks for you. One reason for loving them!![]()
She will.I think it’s safe to say that Bokky is starting to moult. She was a bit crankier with the young ones the past day or so, chasing them away a bit more again from food etc.
Cleaned out the coop this morning and collected these.
View attachment 2517860Fingers crossed she grows her dishevelled tail and head feathers back!!!
They hate it and it has ruined their lives! They are so amusing with the snow![]()
