Sorry to interrupt. Is there a list of chicken names out there somewhere?
I named two of mine, but I have three more chickens to name.
.
.

And no I won’t name two of them, (Sam & Ella) ! :smack
Well I may have misunderstood, I thought your church friends were going to name them, did [not] know you wanted suggestions from here... :idunno

No, those names really don’t interest me. I’m sorry
I do have Shenandoah, and Coco.
That's an American Indian place-name and a name of French origin. Would you like more of those? Alternatively, we were just discussing Harcourt Fenton Mudd's women's names - Eve, Ruth & Magda. Just throwing them out there and you can see what you like...

 Boy I hope someone else has heard that. I have never. @Shadrach @Kris5902 @Ribh anyone else had a shrieking chicken at night on the roost?
Not once they're asleep. I get some really weird noises @ times but they seem to sleep pretty soundly once they go off.

Don’t rush to name them. They will tell you their names when they are ready.
Yes this is true! I was going to name one chick Caramel, for her chick coloring. But this was a chick that would jump up so unexpectedly and so high and recklessly - just to get closer. I soon was careful to always keep an eye on her because she was so willing to just launch herself into space, regardless of having anywhere to land! Her name became Popcorn (a full name could be Caramel Popcorn).

OH NO. Seems I have an egg eater. I found My Leghorn Hen-Rietta, eating an egg on the porch, she just laid. :barnie I'm hoping, it's only a onetime thing, because Rocks-Anne is in lay too. :fl and they all free range.

Maybe it just fell out and broke, so she’s acting as clean-up crew.

Oh I do think it is beautiful and I keep popping my head out to take pictures - particularly of the trees. The issue is it gets followed by many weeks of misery as it melts and freezes and there are big mountains of frozen snow to navigate!
Is there no way your plow guy can do it in a way that leaves you with a reasonable path?

I was thinking it must be a similar experience to a heat wave, but I've realised it's much more restrictive. In a heat wave, the mornings and evenings are sublime, whereas in a snowy spell, you're stuck inside for 24 hours, day after day.
