Ok, I confess, I can't catch up. I'm trying to go back and see chicken photos. Well, today my girls got their Spinach and some meal worms for Valentine treats. I also give Calf Manna during the winter when there are no bugs to eat..no protein. Anyone else? Those are some excellent pictures. I love the expressions on your girls and I just want to get in the middle of them and snuggle them all. I do not care if your having a bad day there is nothing better then just being with your chickens even if it is just for a few minutes.

Would be good for me. Just to remember what sun looks like.
it got above freezing for a few hours today but no sun and it will be well below tonight so everything will be like an ice rink. I will need to scatter some grit to get safely to the Chicken Palace.
I think we had about an inch melt today but no sun. I think there is a maybe sun in the forecast for Wednesday.

It's true! And thank you!

I bought a few bales of straw and threw a bunch in the run and nest areas.

I had to sprinkle cracked corn over the straw for Ned and his ladies. They were afraid of it.
Phyllis, Aurora, and Sydney were OUT this afternoon. Phyllis took off as soon as I opened the run door to give the a snack of leftovers. Brussel sprouts, rice, an American biscuit, and chopped up shrimp tails. Phyllis made a bee line for underneath the bird feeder where the sunflower seeds are. Sydney and Aurora just walked back and forth in front of the coop but they were out.

A good thing. I really miss it.

It kills me their fear of snow or straw. They are very cautious animals.

Those are wonderful chickens. Great photos!

I do not know what calf manna is. So I don't give it to them.
