Quick Sansa Update

For those that are wondering, I just watched her head down at the feeder for 8 minutes straight. I feel like she is eating enough. With the snow likely to be gone by the end of next week hopefully the cabin fever will ease, if that is all that is going on.

Then we can work on rebuilding trust between us. I really hope that is all that is bothering her. 😕
Thanks for the update, Bob. Fingers crossed for you and dear Sansa.

So beautiful!!!

Scary that the fox is often so near.
Yes. The foxes are why I built The Chicken Palace like a real house with massive security.
yesterday I caught this and all the hours I spent making the roof of their pasture runs secure felt worthwhile.

RIP Scary who was carried off by a fox while the Palace was under construction.

Why ever did you add that spot to the roost? It is truly fortuitous. 🤣

I added mine because Daisy, the greatest hen ever, did not seem to like the 2x4 so I gave her the round roost back. She never used it. Maleficent used it to roost in peace from Lilly's iron beak. Now Phyllis uses it to go around. Happy accidents all.
I added it to prevent me injuring myself on the brackets. The brackets are all the same size but the tree trunk, of course, has a bend in the middle and the only way to get it to lie flat on the brackets resulted in the brackets extending past the trunk into the middle. So I could see myself bumping into them all the time and hurting myself. So as a 'servant safety device' I added a spare bit of tree. Who knew it would be so important for the Princesses.
I do keep chuckling how Maggie hurries them along and gets the whole train moving! :lau

It's almost 10am and we are 27°F/-3°C with the wind it feels like 20°F/-7°C.

Once March hits I'm ready for Spring. The snow can melt this week and we can head straight to Spring. This has been my kind of winter.❤
What a perfect winter tree. Just beautiful. You can use that picture for your holiday cards! :love

Yes, different worlds. There are trade-offs however. There are almost literally no services (water, sewage, trash etc.) and we often get cut off in storms because the roads get blocked. I used to live a city life and I loved that, but now I am very content here. My city friends worry about me because I am so far from 'help' and I guess that is true. But it also means I am far from 'annoyances'.
Also, I am in New Jersey for goodness sake - it is one of the most populated states in the country. I have a vehicle, there are roads. How isolated can it really be?!
I honestly am just enormously grateful for everything, I am one of the luckiest people alive.

I don't know why everyone is laughing at this post. Did I say something I shouldn't?
I was being serious. Sometimes I wake up and just really feel grateful for everything good in my life. Sorry, maybe too maudlin to share. It was something about the beauty of the sun on the snow that set me off.
Also, it is an inherited weakness. My Dad when he was in his 90s used to weep sometimes out of the blue, and when asked why, he would say "because everything is so lovely", or "I read some beautiful poetry".
Mind you, he also wept whenever he watched the news on TV and saw cruelty and war and so on.
I guess he just cried easily.
I will show myself out and come back when I am feeling more normal.
