More Photos from Saturday's Adventures

The butterfly bushes were a great spot to rest for a moment and groom.

Sansa was looking very dapper as always.

Hattie began her perimeter fence inspection at the gate.

Most of their secret pathways are now snow free so no need to fly over the pool any longer.

Cammoflage at work. It would be really hard for even a hawk to pick out Sansa against that background. Sydney is also pretty much blending in as well.

I've always like Sansa's coloring , but never really saw how well it worked for Camo. :)

People say eggs get bigger with time, so perhaps Minnie's will too. It's good to hear they continue to stretch their wings!
There is a new nightly regimen which I need to capture on video. The road runners fly up to the roost and block everyone else from getting the prime spot by the wall.
At one look from Maggie they fly down, let everyone else go to roost and then fly back up.
It is pretty funny.
Sometimes they don't fly back up but climb the ladder like they are imitating the other Princesses.
I will see if I can score a video of it.

Momma hen is setting, on a golf ball tonight. If she stays on for almost 24 hours I'll know she's committed and will stuff eggs under her. I could set her tonight as she's never done a half-hearted broody attempt in the past but want to make sure. It is perfect timing really, I started saving eggs for the incubator from my girls Sunday and already have 15 put back. Going to give her Clovers and Granny's for sure, and maybe Bunny's. If they hatch will be my 3rd generation of Marans.

Well I hope she gets some hens. That would be a bummer to have all roosters.
Tell me about it  . My add-ons from TS 2 yrs ago were all roo's. Jack is still with us, but I need room for some BO pullets I saw last weekend and the three Amigo's need to vacate the portable pen I built to start pullets in. Jack will probably get voted off the island as he is still vicious and I'm not interested in building another pen .

It’s ok, Tiger Woods won’t need that golf ball for a while yet!

Cillin.
I think he's had a busy day. He came home early, ate some supper and got on the roost bar of the nest box. Next time I looked over at him his head was under his wing and he was fast asleep.:love

Positive update on my overnight guest. While no one came fourth to claim him my neighbor about a mile from me who also has chickens volunteered to take him. She is better set up to isolate him as none of her chickens free range and has a isolation coop already built. We looked him over closely today and something for sure got ahold of him to rip out his tail feathers and he has a open wound on his tail bone. All I had on hand was vetrocyn which I sprayed on it. She's taking him to the vet tomorrow to get it properly checked and some antibiotic if needed. If a owner is found she'll turn him over, if not he's a new permanent resident of her flock. He looked much better this morning after a good nights rest and food and water, his comb color was much improved and he really wanted out of the cage to mingle with my chickens, I just couldn't take the risk.
I just can't say enough how wonderful this is. Best possible outcome. Thank you for helping him! :hugs :hugs:hugs
