I know that feeling all to well, that first night was rough. The boys did fine, me not so much. The hardest part when I transitioned them outside, is with their newfound freedom the boys realized they didn't need me as much. That first week they went wild and were too busy doing new chicken things that they had no time to snuggle anymore. So the other day when one of them out of the blue hopped up in my lap and took a 30 minute nap I was almost in tears. My sweet boys are back. Now they are full of themselves and trying to run the place. Drumstick and Bumblebee have had to put them in their place a time or two when they wanted to harass a girl while laying. And bouncing up to chest bump your daddy is not the smartest thing. But Drummie is a good boy and simply gave a stern peck on the back, no chasing involved but they got the message. They are actually learning from him good "rooster" duties. At 7 weeks still have their "baby" voices but have tried "tidbitting" after they watched Drummie do it. Epic fail but was cute as could be.The littles spent their first night out in the run. I had a little separation anxiety, but they are all safe and happy. They prefer to perch high up, instead of being in the shelter I prepared for them.![]()
