That's awesome! Great job.Seemed to!Although the hood kept slipping back a bit so kept getting spots of rain on my glasses, which was a bit annoying. If I wear my hubby’s cap underneath, it’s peak would fix that. It seemed to keep the rest of me dry though! Need to wear it when it buckets down, see how effective it is, although my shoes and trouser hems would get soaked. A random stranger complimented me on it at the shop!

I've been in for fluids.Drs office, then to ER. ER doc sent me home with prescription for potassium and one for nausea. Dr said today to drink a lot of water with this medication I'm on now. Thank you.
. You went through the same??
Fact: A lot of animals can transmit C diff. Dogs and cats are well known carriers and far more likely transmitters than chickens.
Fact: Once you have C diff, you always have C diff. It is the normal flora (the bacteria already in your colon) that keep it at bay.
Fact: C diff is highly resilient and is frequently found on the skin of people who have had it for long periods of time afterwards.
Fact: The typical C diff outbreak requires something to upset your normal flora. Usually that is an antibiotic but it could be something as seemingly innocuous as eating too much broccoli.
Opinion: I believe that it is far more likely that you are having a reccurance of your own C diff than you caught it from hatching eggs, chickens, dogs, a friend who is a nurse, anything else.
My mother suffered with C diff for years. It is a terrible disease. Her's was antibiotic associated. It recurred at random. We could never figure out why it decided to recur at any particular point. It was only cured by fecal transplant. Despite that, she still lives in fear that it still could recur at any point.
I love watching chickens doing peaceful chickeny things together.![]()
No, not at that point yet. I'm still going by what I did...last year when this happened, but wasn't diagnosed...to the same thing this year being diagnosed. Hatching, and having chickens again after not having them for over a year. Last year..spring.. I was in the Drs office and the ER for fluids. In October I was in to have shoulder surgery. They sent me home after the lab showed my potassium at 2.7. They told me that I was two points away from being hospitalized for it being so low. This time in the ER I was at 2.6. He had me take three horse pills, which I was having a hard time taking. He told me if I couldn't swallow them then I would have to stay for the IV. I broke them in half! Swallowed. If my memory serves, your husband is in poor health, and you care for him. Do you have to help clean him after the bathroom visits or for bathing in general?
The reason I ask this is perhaps he might be a carrier (colonized w/bacteria but without symptoms) but it effects you do to your poor immune system. I only mention this so that all avenues of possible infection are looked at, not just the chooks.
Yes, sadly I've been reading.Fact: A lot of animals can transmit C diff. Dogs and cats are well known carriers and far more likely transmitters than chickens.

Me too. It really is one of the best things about having them. It's one of my favorite way to relax. Sometimes I read a book or drink coffee, but most times I just sit and watch them in my own little quiet world.
