I think I have mentioned before that I seem to spend a lot of my time confused about something!

I'm always tripped up by language. I'm way too literal. Ground = soil? "I'm going to repot my geranium with some nice ground," no. But maybe so in a chicken's way of looking at it: "There's a bit of soil with a roof, go for it!"

It is on a two step high deck. I did sprinkle a little straw over the nest and provided a small pile of straw in the deck box in case she wants to build a nest. I need to check her handshake now that I'm home again.

Since the girls that are currently laying have decided that the newly replenished hay stack is once again the preferred place to lay their eggs Drumstick has to build a new nest every other day. Here he is hard at work this morning, while Clover and Daisy are yelling at him to hurry up.
