Well Blueberries siblings and Bunny's two boys left this evening for their new homes. Tomorrow integration begins in earnest between her, Raven, Creamy and Pumpkin. I knew Blueberry would miss her siblings, and she is, but I was slightly shocked at how Raven and crew reacted to the boys leaving. Honestly I believe they took it harder then Blueberry did. Blueberry calmed down and stopped her distressed calling after about 20 minutes, they other girls, they were still calling and looking for the boys at roosting time. I had to put them up on the roost 3 different times as twice they flew down and ran searching for the boys. They finally ended up snuggling up to Butter and settling down. That has led me to another idea. Butter is the most tolerant and friendly towards the weaned chicks out of all my hens and at times is a bit of a loner during the day since her injury. I'm thinking of during the integration process putting Butter in with them to see if they can really buddy up with her. I think it would benefit them all if they became friends, especially when I transition Blueberry to the main roost at night. Where I want her to eventually roost is the one Butter and Bunny roost on as well. The other girls have learned to sleep next to Butter as Bunny is a grump and if one of them gets close at night she pecks them. She will continue to do this until Butter intervenes which she will do after the 2nd peck to put her in her place.

Ok this is a long shot and this isn't a good picture, I hope to find the original soon, but anyone have a guess what this chicken might be? She was my moms, her name was Gigi and she was one of the friendliest and most adventurous chickens ever. She would climb ladders or fly up to weird spots to see what we were up to and hang out. I think she came in an order of assorted chicks from a hatchery.

Broken glass and china come out of the ground at my place, too. It’s so odd.

Mine too. The backyard predates rubbish removal, so there's all sorts of waste being scratched up.

Ok this is a long shot and this isn't a good picture, I hope to find the original soon, but anyone have a guess what this chicken might be? She was my moms, her name was Gigi and she was one of the friendliest and most adventurous chickens ever. She would climb ladders or fly up to weird spots to see what we were up to and hang out. I think she came in an order of assorted chicks from a hatchery.

Speaking of blue eggs… I can’t believe I keep forgetting to share this. So my cream legbar lays blue eggs. They’re actually getting to be pretty decent sized eggs. However they do appear white on the inside. It looks like the color is added at the end, just like with brown egg layers. They’re also starting to fade, like I have seen in some of my brown egg layers.
My Easter Egger, on the other hand, lays a slightly greenish blue egg. They are smaller, but the color runs throughout the entire shell inside and out. Any thoughts on this? I thought all blue eggshells had the color throughout. Nope. Does that make Flash a fake Legbar?

Silver hen feathers are being shoved by white flecked black feathers. It's the white on the shoulder that's making me nervous. However, Juvenile feathers have been known to completely be replaced.View attachment 2755795
Comb is a lot more lumpy than siblings, but it could just be the result of a single pea comb hybrid.

Mmm comb is lumpy, eye is adorable and beak is cutie toots. Good thing you didn't show the feet.

As others have said possibly a Campine ~ or she could have been a Brakel ~ essentially the same chicken with very minor differences. The Brakel is stated as having white ear lobes. All my Campines have blue ones. However I'm in Oz so that could make a difference. Both breeds are rare & endangered so she is a very special chicken.
