More Challenges Brewing

I spent some time watching Sydney very closely this morning. I am getting concerned.

No Laughing @Ribh !

I think Sydney is about to go broody. she is pancaking on the ground and starting to tut tut around a bit. It is very similar to what happened last year right before she decided to set. Hopefully Phyllis' experience will be a deterrent to her. I don't know that I can lose another nest box........

Here is Sydney not looking pre-broody.

I can attest to the fact that broodiness is contagious!
Would it be helpful to have a back-up broody mama just in case Phyllis decides to stop?

I'm sorry, Bob. I don't know whether to laugh or cry for you. I think you have a bigger problem than I did. You give them babies! :lau

There is a show out here of comedy skits called The Comedy Company ~ if your looking for a group name. ;)

I’m thinking of buying one of these with the little tax money I’m getting, opinions? My feeder is outside the coop most times, thought it would help when it rains (so I don’t have to shift it into the cubby where they kick shavings into it, because the feed wouldn’t get damp) and maybe the wild birds may take 2 days to work it out 😂(but will the girls work it out?) It is clear on that side in the pic to show how it works I believe, and yes, it is a proper seller this time 😅 an Aussie company so trying to support ‘local’ 🤷🏻‍♀️

it seems a long way to have to stick their head in? My only apprehension...
Tell me your thoughts, chook brain trust 😁
I have the long tube ones but the chickens love them, they don't allow the weather in & I there is always food available so there's less competition amongst my girls. Those on the bottom can feed peacefully when the big girls vacate the coop.

Very sorry, I haven’t been on BYC lately. It’s been a very busy and hot week. Several fires have happened. Even 1/4 of my little Main Street in town, burned down to the ground, (including my friends store, where Emma came from) Difficult times here lately. I will probably never catch up on this thread. :old :th
My post office is across the road, so I took a picture of the fire mess. It even smells as bad as it looks! :sick B8D665A6-37AB-47EB-A7DE-C0D6D3F258F0.jpeg 8F1D4149-5082-4723-A326-5F40D1F3E509.jpeg

I knew you would love this. I deserve it too. :gig

It just rained really hard, maybe that will cool her off. :gig

I like Comedy Company. Writing it down. By the way, Mrs BY Bob kind of liked the comedienne suggestion. Since she will be naming those two thank you for the assist.
