Hi everyone, I'm pleased to announce I've finished my song! I'm sure if I gave it to a producer it would sound better, but I'm keen to get it out there. I'm actually going to have some online tuition with a producer, so I'm really looking forward to that!

In the meantime, here is a link to my song. And some chicken tax.

Very nice, Lozzy!

Little Mill’s hormones are going haywire again. She’s in a slow molt, but still squatting. Not sure if she’s laying. However, I suspect she’s on the verge of broodiness again, as she’s back to pouncing on the babies (one-year-olds). I don’t mean chasing them off. I mean she literally jumps on their backs and rides them, pulling on their combs and head & neck feathers. Flash was the target before. Last night she was after Flo, who is the highest ranked of the babies and I won’t be surprised if she’s flock leader someday if she lives that long. I also saw Flo do it to Flash. I wonder where she learned it? 🙄

We Are Down to One

Phyllis only has 1 tail feather left.

Where is this original post? I need an eyeroll emoji, too. However, Alex loves his chickens and if hormone therapy would save one’s life, as they have for my Ruby, I suspect he’d give it a try.

Here’s the deal, Alex. In our case, the hormones stop the lay cycle. They have bought Ruby two and a half more years of life, as the laying was going to kill her. Now, going on three years, they have stopped working and we wait. I’m hoping now that she’s older, her natural hormones have slowed down.
The original post, was a rude comment about prostitution (nothing to do with egg laying cycles (that’s why I pulled it off the thread) and I’m sorry again for that, Bob.

Well, one thing was true about the new girls, they are laying machines. I thought the stress of moving to a new home would slow their egg production down or even stop it for a period of time. Nope, 7 so far from them. They lay in the afternoons so not even ready to count today's tally yet. My mom who see all chickens as simply one breed but a variety in sizes and colors in general even asked the first night what were they. She now knows Marans and knew something was off. I told her I suspected cochins and she went to googling on her phone while we were out coyote hunting. She's came to the conclusion that the silkies have ruined me because to her they look like big silkies. Not only that, she also now knows about silkies and cochins that come in the Buff variety. Buff is her favorite color on a chicken, and apparently any breed I add if it has a buff color, I need one. The last feather footed breed I need to make me happy one day is a Brahma. I have yet to mention them to her, but when I do I will show her the Buffs, and while I want dark Brahmas, Buffs will be the way to introduce them to the flock without any complaints.

Nothing to apologize for. We all push the line from time to time. I love that you post jokes the way you do. Every once in awhile it was bound to happen that one would not land how you expected it to.

I still love you. And I will continue to worry until I know you are well again. :hugs :hugs
