Shorter days & moults will do that. Make sure they are still eating,,,and once the feathers are significantly grown back (i.e. they don't look like a porcupine anymore) they should mostly be back to normal behavior wise (though not yet laying, or if so, sporadically....if they do at all/much through the winter.)
They are behaving normally apart from the egg laying, Minnie having watery poop, and Minnie roosting alone.
In the day they seem full of beans. Actually all the Princesses are a sort of amped up by digging up everything in their yard. They are on a mission and are tackling it with vigor. Only a few breaks for sunbathing. Otherwise they were on round the clock digging detail!

Meanwhile, I don't know whether I should be worrying. I have only had two Roadrunner eggs in all of October (September I got 20 Roadrunner eggs). So effectively the Roadrunners have stopped laying.
Minnie does have watery poo (well today at least she does) but otherwise both seem fine other than the molting.
When should I worry?
Not yet. Molting combined with shorter days is likely the reason. I only have one of eleven birds laying right now, ages 1-5 1/2 years old.

We had a terrible storm one afternoon ~ lots of wind & rain. Through the downpour there was this insistant tapping on the glass of a window. A little songbird was trapped against the glass by the wind & was begging to be let in. Eventually I felt so sorry for it, I brought it inside, dried it off & warmed it up before releasing it in a sheltered corner of the yard. Throughout this little bird showed no fear @ all, just gratitude for some temporary shelter.

I do believe that they are so much smarter than we give them credit for (animals in general, but specifically birds/chickens)...and this is an excellent example of their 'emotional intelligence' - being able to determine our intent /read the situation(good or bad).
:idunno Maybe me anthropomorphizing..and they are just desperate so go with the flow? :idunno
