When I finally got home I found Sylvie alone huddled in nest box 2.

I coaxed her out (video on that later), and we took a ride to the big run.

After hanging out for a while and eating some purple corn, it was time for bed as darkness comes quick this time of year. She wanted to sleep on the big roost tonight and so I decided to help her.

They are sleeping together right now.

Sylvie kept getting up and trying to get closer to Phyllis. Once she got close enough to try and burrow beneath Phyllis like she used to do with Legertha. Phyllis did not like that at all. I left that up to Phyllis to resolve.

Hard on so many levels but lovely to see Sylvie & Phyllis roosting together.

The chooks just got a good laugh out of daddy. I was filling up the water bowls in the run, and the spray nozzle broke in my hand. Spraying water all over me. (They were laughing (I wasn’t)

Imagine 12 chooks standing nearby staring at daddy while he yells at the water hose (funny, now that I’m dried off and pondering what happened)

This made me happy this morning. Dawn only just breaking but two of my four are up and about. This is Maggie (chowing down) and Dotty demonstrating her mastery of the steps.
The other two are still roosting comfortably.

That's cool Chaco. I'll buy you some pyjamas. I understand about Jaffar's loud morning call, so we will use a silencer off a motorbike or something
