I was trying to make you laugh! :gig

No, she's an old hand now. I leave her be. She gets herself up for food, drinks, dustbathing, etc. If she's still sitting at 22-23 days, I'll open up the little coop she's sitting in and wait patiently while she decides getting up might be the right course of action.

It's a natural process. She knows more about her needs than I do.

It's Saturday morning where we live, so she's starting her second full day.
Well, thank you for the laugh... I sure needed it! This is my first time dealing with a broody hen, so it's all new to me!

I'm used to dealing with the feral chickens & have never had to deal with their broodiness firsthand... well, except for the part where they show up and introduce me to their baby chicks 😅

I remember that day!!

Ever since Minnie started molting badly and got crop issues she has been roosting on her own. I have been worried that maybe Maggie or others were making her unwelcome on the big roost.
This afternoon I got video of bed time. Minnie not only goes voluntarily but she actually flies from the main roost to her solo spot.
I wonder why she won’t stay with the others?

@cfonts in case you decide to let Kiko sit it out, just keep an eye on her so you know she's taking care of herself at least once every two days. If she gets to three days without moving, pick her up and put her in her usual food spot. She'll wake and eat, drink etc.

Eta: remember, they don't need to eat as much energy when they're sitting most of the day.

Janet prefers to roost alone too.

Titania is back sitting on invisible eggs too. 🙄 My whole lot are crazier than the Mad Hatter.

Me too! @cfonts given they all wander around, how do you know her eggs aren’t fertile?
Kiko is my "rescue chick". She goes out into my backyard during the day, but none of the other chickens really interact with her, except for Gizmo (the other chick I rescued who turned out to be a rooster). Gizmo *tried* mating with Kiko once and that didn't go well- she screeched so loud that it scared him and he never tried that ever again 😅 Maybe he'll try again once he gets a little older? None of the feral roosters have access to her.

Kiko is similar to @featherhead007's chooks and likes to sleep indoors in the evenings 😂 She even enjoys watching movies with me!
