Thank you. I did a home test for Covid just in case (negative) but I think it is a side effect of the month of antibiotics I was on for Lyme. Really nasty gastritis with a lot of pain and vomiting every hour or so.
Not something I am prone to so a bit scary as well as miserable.
I am turning the corner as I managed to keep down a third of a plain boiled potato since last night though the cramps continue.
I am maintaining electrolyte and hopefully fluid balance by sipping the Gatorade that I originally got for Minnie!
Be sure to tell her. I think she would appreciate that.

It's time like that when the cameras are great to keep in touch with them. :hugs :hugs

How much snow did you get?

Just peeked outside as I can hear the girls who will need to lay their eggs soon starting to complain. The loudest complainer is Raven and she's standing in the pathway I shoveled contemplating braving the snow to make it to the porch. Poppy is in her happy spot and growling at any hen that walks near her, her little nest is hers and hers alone. So far the bigger hens are respecting that. I think after I drink this cup of coffee I will bundle back up and brave the 15 degree temps and shovel a path to the porch. But only because in the last 2 days Butter also started using the porch boxes and when I peaked out she gave me a look that could kill. We all know Butter is the queen and gets what she wants.
We are slaves to the special ones.

I told you that Raven would be trouble! :old (Happy shoveling) Remember, you are doing it for your girls.:)
Raven and Blueberry have always been trouble. Raven has just amped it up after she started laying. She is NOT above throwing a hen out of the prize box when she is ready to lay her egg if its occupied. And most times when she's ready to lay Bunny or Holly has beaten her to the favorite box. Raven's egg is also going to cause trouble when its time to incubate, especially if I want pure Marans. I kept 4 marans mixed pullets from last year. Of the 4 Raven's egg is as dark as my pure Marans. Thankfully it is a different shape then Holly and Bunnies. If I am not careful though I could easily mix it up with theirs.

You are a big softie! :love
Somehow with being so out of it I totally missed the forecast and see we got 6" or so overnight. Shame I never got to fit the car into the garage!
The Roadrunners have no interest in even exploring their covered runs - they get a light dusting from wind blowing the snow in and the precious ladies took one look and went back inside.
Maggie and Diana are made of sterner stuff and are out in the pasture run which has a hardware cloth cover so gets real snow and a lot of melt. Maggie's favorite thing is to snap the icicles off the ceiling and eat them!

Just posted. 6". I didn't even realize we had a storm coming because I have been so out of it. So I didn't really prepare. Basic things like putting the car in the garage. Sigh. But I can see and hear the chickens happily doing chicken things and the guy who plowed the drive managed (I think) not to create a snow mountain in front of the Chicken Palace so I think all will be OK when I am up to being out and about.

The chicken chick posted this pic on facebook a few hours ago. As I get ready to head back out I 100% agree with it.

Keep trying to eat, and stay hydrated. I know the cramps hurt. :hugs
