I tried a cabbage with the gang, at first they were very leery but when I checked on them they had been working away on it. Guess they like cabbage!

I am an exhausted nervous wreck but everyone is alive.
I woke up a few times in the night to check on Dotty via the coop cams and check the temperature and then I had an extra wake-up call when the house alarm went off for reasons I still haven't figured out.
I was ready to leap out of bed and grab her off the roost and tuck her in the cave in the garage. My anxiety was not lessened by finding this post which voiced my exact fear - that I would find her motionless and half frozen on the ground.

Tonight will be a similarly cold night and then it warms up to the 20s for a few days so I can relax a bit.
Yep, that’s about right. (Except Rocks-Anne is in my lap as usual)Wow, of course he is busy. You would be, too, if you were trying to keep track of all your ladies in that weed patch! Especially where he is short......
I can just see it now:
Jaffar: Hey, Rocks-Ann...where did you go, I can't see you
(head stretched up, trying to see over the weeds)
Rocks-Ann: Right here, next to Shannandoa.
Jaffar: Well, then, where is Shannendoa?
Shannandoa: Right here, Jaffar - can't you see me next to Rocks-Ann and Coco?
Jaffar: (Munbling under his breath..If I could SEE you I wouldn't be asking where you are!!!) Um, Coco..where are you sweetie?
Coco: ( with her impatient voice) Jaffar, Shannandoa just told you! I'm right next to her!
Jaffar: All right, Ladies, enough is enough. If I could see you, I wouldn't be asking where you are. Xzit...where are you?
Xzit: oh, just south of Coco.
Ladies, in unison: Hey, Jaffar, where are you, we can't see you.....
Jaffar: big sigh and shakes his head.
Beautiful! He’s against the fence. View attachment 2981657
Yup, she is. I can see just a bit of black behind Betty (kinda underneath her to where the far end of the roost would be.) If you look between Betty's fluffy front undercarriage and where her fluffy leg/side feathers are behind the roost...that slight gap of 'fluff' shows some of Phyllis' black.
It really is. I'm so looking forward to when it is green here again. It really is a green paradise for chickens.
