Oh!!! That starts like a trill, but ends more like the way Bridge calls me quite often. Usually it seems to mean she wants something, like an escort back to her flock, or lately, I take her down from the roost. Maybe Phyllis is asking you for something?
I agree 💖 I call it the whining tone haha.

How r things with you? Moving progressing?

I could do, yes, but security was more important after the recent break in attempts.

If I wanted cameras just for watching the hens, I'd probably get battery-powered ones if they're cheaper.

I got these ones. I mentioned above it was important to me that the cameras are on the electricity and not battery-powered. That's because when we're not in a pandemic I often travel for work and leave the house empty. When I'm on the go again, it'll be good to know the cameras won't drop out in my absence.
It's such a good thing having them around - I have worked away from the house for months on end in the past, and it was sure a good feeling being able to pop into the camera app and check things out.

I take it you have an NVR to record your footage, sounds like you have a terrabit of data on it, that's awesome! I checked out you camera link they look really nice

There are solar powered battery cams out there (Reolink has several i looked at this one for the barn https://reolinks.com.au/product/arg...ery-powered-or-solar-powered-security-camera/ but ended up getting their E1 outdoor).

Image with floodlight on, it's still snowing haha:

The cameras hold 4GB of video (roughly a fortnight of recordings) which I can play with the app and download to my phone if ever I need to keep one longer term. Once the 4GB is used up it loops back to the beginning of its memory and starts over writing old videos with new.

It doesn't store video for every minute of the day, only when it detects motion and there's an additional setting that turns on pattern recognition so only videos of human shapes are recorded. However, like all automated pattern recognition, it's only as accurate as its training data which evidently did not include two hens snoozing side by side. It keeps labelling two feathery snugglers as "human".

I have the back porch camera set to record and alert me to any motion and the front cameras to record and alert me to human motion.

I am not kitting the chicken run with cameras at this time. There are too many domestic projects that are more urgent than chicken cameras on the wait list.
I hear you on that!! One day I actually hope to get my crown molding finished in the sunroom haha! It's half done......

Haha that's hilarious 😂 I kept Getty alerts with squirrels and snow... I finally had to disable the alerts. Did you get any screen captures of your snugglers ?
