Ya... No roast beast, mash potatoes and gravy.... Oh u know I find it morbidly fascinating that the chickens gobble up roast chicken and mash potatoes and gravy with the fixings like crazy 😆

I asked my mum today while at work 'whats for supper?', she said roast chicken breast with the bone in, just like your dad liked.

I then asked her 'who is missing'? To which she asked what I meant... I said to her which chicken was missing.... She still didn't get it. Ha! I had to explain, then she told me I wasn't funny...

That roast chicken breast was awesome the skin crispy and salty yummy 👍 I told Dixie Chickie, and Dicky Boy they would be enjoyed as such also 🤗

Mum still doesn't think I was funny 😆

Ummm so we had chicken thighs the other night, and sometimes I don’t love how DH cooks them, if they are greasy and the skin isn’t crispy… I leave a little too much meat on the bones so I tossed them to the chickens… there’s nothing quite as entertaining as watching them play cannibal chicken football with the bones 😆

I love that plate💖
I got the plates for Mrs BY Bob last year for Christmas. They were an incredible find on Wayfair. They are Orvieto Blue Rooster plates hand made and painted in Italy. Each of them is a little different. They are ridiculously expensive but for some reason Wayfair had them last year and I got them for 1/4 the normal cost. I bought every one they had as they put them up on the website and I would up with a service for 12. I could not believe my good fortune. They had none before Christmas this year. This is what they look like.

Lady Gouldians Finch is good, and will ship their “pet supplies” to many locations. Although the delivery has been a little slow, in 2020/2021, the pet supplies and Bob’s dosing information finally started clearing Roostie’s foot issues up.
I've been meaning to ask about Roostie's food. Is it all cleared up?

Oh Bob… I am so sorry for your loss and the trauma to Hattie… and the whole tribe. :hugs Good to see Hattie starting to recover. They do get traumatized, and there’s a lot going on in those chicken brains and hearts that we don’t always fully know. She will eventually get back to herself more and more.:hugs:hugs:hugs

After the mink attack here, which occurred in their coop, I had to physically put almost all 60 of the survivors up the first three nights (after I repaired the door, trapped and shot the mink, and cleaned the coop thoroughly and put in fresh bedding). “Not safe there anymore” was the chicken consensus. Five girls persisted in attempting to roost anywhere as far from the coop as possible for almost two weeks. Trees, fences, under my trailer, you name it, anywhere but the site of the attack.
The attack site was under the magnolia tree which was their refuge from the Red Tailed Hawks which were their previous top predator. They do still go under the magnolia tree and even stopped to groom there today.

The Cooper's Hawk is so much more dangerous than the Red Tailed Hawk even though it is smaller.

Ok. That's a bridge I have not crossed.

It cleared up and he was well on the mend, but the heatwave this summer, his Meat Bird Genetics, and a little additional stress from Sammy and their feud were too much for his heart. He put his girls to bed one night and then had a presumed heart attack (based on his comb).
