Tonight is the big night. I've set a reminder that at 10pm I need to do the final candle to check the questionable egg and then remove the turner to officially go into lockdown. I do not think I will have a early hatch but even with full size eggs it has happened before. For the next 3 days I will be stalking the incubator. I thought ahead this time, in the past I've drove myself crazy imagining that the eggs were wiggling and rolling around before they actually were. This time when I set the eggs I put a big x on one side of each egg. When the turner is removed the eggs with be placed with the x side up. Once I see movement I can have the brooder set up and ready to go in 10 minutes.

Is it too soon to start chewing my nails?

No time since this morning.

My everything provider has disconnected my call 4 times and no stop attempting to call them for 3 hours solid. I so wish I could find a functioning company

That sounds bad. I am not sure what an everything provider is - like a general store?
Sorry they aren’t being helpful.

Thanks Kris. I've done all that I can to secure them from weasels since I lost Mal. I need to decide if I'm going to deploy the trap again after seeing the footprints. I never caught anything last time.

If it is a weasel, the only thing that apparently works for trapping them (according to my friend who has gotten 8 this year) is a relatively fresh victim. The only reason I got mine was I had it trapped inside the coop and was
Herding it in with the stick. Also the coon sized traps might not be fully escape proof! I detest mink

Wow. We’re having a winter heatwave in California. Don’t envy me; the drought is downright scary.

Always feast or famine with weather....

Hopefully it levels out somewhat for both our sakes!
