Something is Up with Lilly

Check out what she is doing. Part of the time she is a normal chicken and then she just stops and sits like this. She was free ranging like normal a minute before she sat down here.

I am concerned to say the least but she is not leaving her friends and going to roost like Hattie. I will give her tonight but I may need to act tomorrow.
Hmmmm yes all puffed up, is she laying lately?

It looks like there is some labored breathing...the amount her body is moving...but she seems calm and isn't acting like she is uncomfortable. ??

So, just a shot in the dark...especially given her age. Could she have PCOS? I had a hen like this. At the end she really had difficulty breathing. At first I thought ascities because the abdomen was a but distended, too...but had not vet to consult & I was terrified of syringing fluid out improperly & hitting an orgam/intestinal track. When she passed I did an informal autopsy. She was FILLED with 23 clear (all but 2) fluid sacs...ranging in size from a pea up to golf ball size! She was 5. (DC) I read after that approx. 20% of hens 5 & up fed non-organic feed will get this. I no longer remember f soy played a role, too, or not. This hen had standard/non-organic feed for the first 2 years of her life. After that I had been feeding organic almost exclusively (I couldn't find a good organic scratch, so that wasn't organic for another year or two,)

I will see if I can find the article again. I had saved it in my browser, but that computer died last spring. :(
