Glad he was able to provide some behavioral adjustment lessons to the Brat Pack. Sorry it couldn't last longer. Is mobility restoration on the projects list for the move after the roof?
Yes, I’m going to need to do a big overhaul on all the existing layer/breeding tractors, but the tractor tribes don’t exactly play nicely with the free range flock. Hawk especially, and Barney’s girls are quite rough with the other hens, so I’m going to go with the “chicken math” solution build more housing!!! 🤣 the amount of repairs needed… it’s going to be a more than one day affair for each tractor, so I will build one more, move someone’s tribe into it and then repair/rebuild theirs and so on… I probably won’t be adding any more actual chickens, but
Might move Chunk and some of the Curvy girls into it for Breeding season… so maybe chicken math?

Here is an update on Dotty’s comb frostbite. And yes, I know that better pictures would help, but it took me an hour of trailing around after her to get these!
The main black part has fallen off and indeed there was a bit of viable tissue underneath, but also a sort of spike of black tissue remains. It seems clear how that lower point will end up.
I am less sure of the point above which certainly hasn’t turned black and is less swollen than it was, but is definitely still pale and not quite normal.
Luckily she seems unconcerned so it is really just my guilt that has me obsessing over it.

Is it just me, or all nursery rhymes violent, rude or abusive?
(Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill came tumbling after) or the other one that says (there was an old woman who lived in a shoe, had so many children she didn’t know what to do. She gave them some broth without any bread, she spanked them all soundly and sent them to bed) (Peter pumpkin eater locks up his wife in a pumpkin) and so many more violent ones! Gezz no wonder Our generations are so confused :old:tongue

Nope, nursery rhymes are pretty gruesome.

Another fine opening… recently finished reading he Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire. Highly recommend! There’s some Gender Identity and acceptance stories beautifully woven into a modern take on some Fairy tales in a Harry Potter/ peculiar children setting. The Jack and Jill ones were really good, set in a horror/dystopian world… really worth a read! All her work is great and there’s some modern Faerie stuff as well. It took me a little longer to get into the young adult series, the first book is a little meh… but from there it really gets much better
I love book recommendations. Thanks!

Thank you. I will. I am aware this is going to be extremely stressful on the girls, I hope with all my heart it doesn’t push anyone over the edge and will do as much as I possibly can to keep them healthy and happy. Daylight savings is coming, which will help; they will get an hour more of free range time and they days are just getting longer.

As far as being patient with the humans, I have been packing for weeks and nobody else around here has done anything. As you know I suffer from high blood pressure and tachycardia and am really trying to keep my own stress level down, as well. I am the only one in the family who works full time all year round every year, and I think it’s fair for me to expect some help.
Oh I am right behind you on that one!!!!

Well if I were closer I would pop over to help 🙂, or at least bring some 'home brew' to make it go more fun 😆. Never know what one might pack up!!
