Chicken Back Taxes for whining about weather, medication availability and herbicide issues here

I figure there’s at least 30 under there staying out of the rain… I think they have learned this from the goats. Here is ā€œmeatballā€ contemplating eggs while I contemplate turning some cockerels into sausage looking at her back and head

And finally, the real answer to why the Sasso girls, Ziptie, Trouble, and Mama have cleaner bottoms than the other curvy girls. Their little sister Tailess helps them preen the spots they can’t reach ewwww

I bet they were eating @RoyalChick 's cat food! We found that was the case here, then found how they were getting in....now we hear them working on an alternate route around the old hole (stuffed with steel wool and blocked off on the house side by wood). But we are wiser and on to them 🤣
Ratak is my friend.... Just keep its away from wildlife and other animals if I use it. I put it in the attic in the house and in enclosed rooms in the barn were cats, chickens, etc can't get at it.

I have such a mouse rat problem in my barn.... But I put out Ratak yesterday and have high hopes to be rid of the beasties by next week.

Got the poison locked in my office/feedroom so chickies can't get at it. Also in the loft.... Where I saw a rat last weekend when I was throwing down hay. Nasty critters.
Remember to be careful that no chickens or wild birds can get a hold of rats/mice that have been poisoned.

I help Henny Penny keep her butt clean šŸ˜

I use a comb tho šŸ˜†

I'll definitely post here what she says! I like the how big your area is and the extension sounds good. Grapes can be finicky but give it a shot!

I know you're aware of the threat - once a hawk sees chickens they know they are there. They will hang out and study the layout. So I'm afraid that the tall pines might work the other 'way round too, for certain species of hawks - might be how they hide themselves from the chickens before attacking. :(
True, but I managed to hit one with a little rock...and it hasn't tried to go back into the pines again yet (that was 2- 3 months ago) I am sure I didn't really hurt it, it was a glancing blow & a small rock - size of a ping pong ball), but I think I scared it...as it now flies off from where-ever it is if I walk towards it.

Responsible pesticide use! Gold star for you!!! šŸ˜† I need to set the traps DH brought but the stove mouse looked right at me the other night while it was eating my potatoes and was kinda cute. I’m going to feel guilty now, but I’m also sick of the poop from the top of the stove hole to my island and into my potato bag. 😠

I also do a chicken predator growl noise while chasing and throwing rocks at BBB hoping they will associate all the whrrereol noises of the chickens and I with bad things: ie that crazy person throwing rocks and sticks at us

:hugsWe missed you… and I was totally waiting for the ā€œI turn my back for 5 minutes and look what happens to my threadā€¦ā€ post. Hope all is well, and happy reading!
Thanks. All is well. I was out of town at a conference and got back very late last night. I tried keeping up but I actually wound up getting lost so I figured it was best to wait and do it all at once.
