Bunny finally got her wish. 10 minutes after that picture was taken she laid her egg. She spent another few minutes on the couch throwing socks over her back. She then hopped down and started to head back outside. I had to chase her down to get the 1 sock that was still on her back.
OMG that’s hilarious! :lau So wish you’d got a video of that!

Well it is official, I will be incubating Guinea eggs after my chicks hatch. My sawdust guy just dropped by and asked if my incubator was empty and to pick up 3 dozen eggs. Told him it was full and asked why. One of his friends has Guinea's and they are laying like crazy and offered to give him some eggs to hatch. I told him if he could wait until after this round hatches I'll try to hatch off as many eggs as he wants. Well, he asked how many my turner holds and I told him 42, he said he'd be back when it was time with 42 eggs. And when I asked him how much would the guy charge for eggs as my uncle was wanting to find some, but he only wants 2 he told me if I would incubate them and they hatched I could give my uncle 2 to 6 for free. Now, I will have to drill it into Rosie's head that these eggs are spoken for and she is NOT to ask to keep any of the keets. Our place is not big enough for guinea's.

I don’t know whether to be excited or terrified!
Either way, do keep us informed.

Grandma's dr appointment today just ended in frustration. Get her there and signed in. They call us back and when the Physicians Assistant comes in and asks a few questions drops the bomb shell. They have to reschedule her. It is policy that whatever Neurologist sees you while you are hospitalized is the one you are supposed to see for follow-up appointments. They had scheduled her with the wrong dr. Now we have to wait until next Friday for this appointment.
:hugs:barnie:hugs
Sorry to hear this, RB, that sounds extremely frustrating:(

I am quite relieved to see this.
After moving the babies into the brooder in the coop I was sure they had found heat and food but not so sure they had found the hanging water.
I had to be away most of today (just boarding the train home now) so was very glad for the remote monitoring camera. At least I know Lulu isn’t going to die from dehydration.

Just look at those little darlings. 😍

I have some researching to do now. While visiting today my uncle mentioned when would my incubator be empty. Told him about 2 weeks and asked why. If he can find them he is wanting me to try my hand at incubating guinea eggs. I told him if he can find the eggs and promises to take any that hatch I will try.
That will be different. They are noisy buggers.

This will be fun! :wee:wee

Not sure of the Wednesday theme, but here are my old Penelope and the new lady Marty sunbathing last evening... Still get a kick out of how they fling out a wing and lay on their sides to sunbathe

I got a good look at her last night and looks like she is in the midst of molting. But she is still laying eggs so not sure if she will stop that, she is a wild little thing, very leery of everything, but I did notice her investigating a bit more.
Poor thing, moving is quite tramatic for chickens...plus having a brand new set of chicken-mates to get used to, and she was picked on at her old place....it's no wonder she is a bit timid/stand-off-ish. Who knows how much she was handled/around people at the other place...too. I say give her 2 weeks to fully feel comfortable in her new home and figuring where she fits in this new flock of hers.❤️❤️ The fact that she was sunbathing both today and the other day quite close to another hen is a good sign!:love

This is Bunny. And yes Bunny is on my couch on top of 2 loads of clean laundry that I have not had time to fold this morning. I've mentioned in the past that Bunny takes advantage every time she spots a open window or door to come inside. She is determined the couch is where she needs to lay her egg. It is almost 70 today, I want my doors and windows open. After throwing her out 10 times already we gave up. Threw a hospital chuck pad down and she is happy.
Well, of course, who wouldn't want to be a house chicken in your house? Especially after seeing Phyllis on Beakbook in @BY Bob 's house...with Star Wars on the TV, special treats, warm laps, comfy places to sit .......🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
