All I'm going to say on this accusation is that no, there is not a special box of raisins kept in the china cabinet. No she does not hand out about 5 from that box in exchange for the egg. And finally, and this scares me, no, when the known broody decides she wants to hatch for the first time this year she will NOT be allowed to commandeer the couch. I've been informed she shall have her own milk crate brought in to be placed beside the couch. Grandma loves to sew, I fear it is almost time to look up a pattern for chicken diapers if she keeps this up.
Have you posted a pic of an egg on the puppy pad? This whole thing is just too cute!

That's appreciated but my hens are on pellets and I am not sure my hens wouldn't pick out the grains they add in there separate from the pellets. Though I have been wondering about going back to crumbles as the pellets end up as crumbles in the feeder bottom anyway, I think from the agitation when they hit them. Lately I've been using the crumbles in the chop greens as @bgmathteach does.
It is weird the photo is showing a mix now. When I last looked it was just pellets. The crumble is normal crumble 🤷‍♀️

We had nearly record highs last week, definitely the warmest say of the year. Yesterday morning and now it is snowing! Our last frost date of the year is late april early may, but this is only the second april snow I can remember. It isn't sticking but still.
I saw photos from the tulip fields in Washington st from yesterday almost fully covered in snow with just the tulips sticking out.

2 inches on the continental divide last night on way home....a foot on way to work this morning, still coming down.

Yesterday: T shirt weather on a long overdue goat walk.

Today: Snow/Slush/ Torrential rain 😠 now I need to go down and bail out the house. The goats won’t leave the barn, the chickens are half in the coop and half hiding under everything. No one is happy. This years weather has definitely been a challenge.
