We don't have snakes where I live. We don't even have worms ready to be scratched up from the soil. Too far north, but we do have over nineteen hours of daylight in the summer, so that's fun!
Oh know all about long daylight hours working couple hrs north of Fort McMoney 😊

And I also know all about looooong dark days when the sun pops up around 9am skims across the horizon and goes down around 3pm 😁

So far so good. She has 2 under her now. I gave her the oldest yellow chick first as it was almost fluffed up and dried completely. She immediately started talking to it. I sat right outside her box watching her. She was constantly clucking to it and peeked under herself a few times and settled right back down. After about 30 minutes I gave her the Corona chick. Again she took right to it. In a few minutes I'm going to give her the youngest yellow chick and if she takes that one I will not press my luck any farther. I foresee another sleepless night tonight. It is ok though, I think if we make it through the night with no problems she'll be good to go.
Awwww… amazing! Mother hens are THE BEST!!!

:wee:wee I HAVE A CORONA CHICK OUT WITH FEATHERED FEET!!!:wee:weeo
Not only that, of the pure marans chicks this one this one has next to nothing as far as a comb goes. I also had another Creamy baby hatch, yellow with feathered legs! I'm giving them 1 more hour and then going to see if Baby will accept them.
Fantastic!
