Break Time

I got some quality time with Phyllis today. I did not realize how much i missed her until she jumped up onto the deck when I was on break today. I was so excited to see her that the whole tribe got double snacks. I recorded it so you all could share in my joy.

I think they are as happy as you were...getting double treats is always fun! I see Betty and Hattie still aren't getting along Betty seems to work her way around the edges to get most of her share pretty well, though! Good for her

Betty and Hattie still have moments of discord. I'm feeling a little bad for Hattie these days. She should have been queen when Lilly passed on. It's just gone very wrong for her the last 8 months or so.

Honestly, I'm surprised that Hattie & Sydney don't get along better/aren't chummy. I sort of feel like Hattie is running solo now, poor dear. And she is such a sweetie.

Sorry for the long wait. I usually get them inside the henhouse until a predator leaves...

Wow, from your HANDS!!! Woo-hoo, that deserves a celebration. You are working wonders in such a short time!

I admit I was a bit surprised, but live, dirty food appears to be enticing enough to risk death.

A couple of them even let me pick them up to bring them back inside without going into a frenzy. The other two, not so much. Little by little...

Thanks. I'm using something called Amish Origins that I ordered from amazon. I will have another go at it tomorrow. I'm not too squeamish about pus, thankfully. I used to work for a vet, and yes, it's happened to me too. The things we do for our animals!

Just remember if it happens to your spouse or other “here, hold this chicken” volunteer. Don’t laugh! Just don’t laugh…
