I’m not sure of the logic In this, but I took Xzit out to the coop. Set up her laying box with her eggs, and hopefully she will be more relaxed out with her feathered family. Staying inside (in the dark) can’t be good for her. I watched, as she made herself more comfortable, and she has more room in her box.
Just make sure that the others can’t lay in her box or push her off her nest. Otherwise you end up with more eggs partially incubated when she is done hatching the first three and unless you have another broody volunteer…

They can track me all they want! Those twelve or so times a year I leave the farm and do a random huge shop… what I love is the phone/internet advertising I used to see, I kind of miss the ads they were so interesting at times. Goat anti mating aprons, comfy cow stall leaning things for dairy barns, oh look shiny glass beads, cordless tools! For a while there is kept trying to sell me yachts and RV’s, ummm sorry phone the RV isn’t really a lifestyle choice at this point. Mostly I found them entertaining, because the things I actually do impulse buy are things like Oil, power steering, transmission, and brake fluids! 😂 and Caulking guns, I seem to collect those. Can never find one when I need it, until I buy a replacement, then they all pop back out. I’m convinced they have some sort of sentience and are planning on taking over my garage trailer!
I can confirm your suspicion about caulking guns. Cans of WD40 and measuring tapes have the same behavior patterns.

Oh gosh, I just realized the Walmart tracking probably thinks I’m solidly cuckoo. Last time I was in there was the random accompanying mom around the store doing the “shopping” thing, then when she decides she’s done and can’t shop anymore (usually due to a nicotine fit combined with her health issues, and people-ing) I leave her to get to the checkouts and make a mad dash thought the store for the stuff we actually need. Cottage cheese, snacks for the way home (I know she’s also hangry) food items, stationary… or like last time it was power steering fluid which is on the second floor. This led to the brake fluid impulse purchase, which I couldn’t decide on and after the initial snatch and grab and power walking back to the escalator I had a “do I really need it?” moment decided to put it back (where it belongs) because I’m not a jerk. So there’s the deer in headlights panic moment followed by indecisive looks at the fluid, another mad dash up to put it back where it belongs, then back to the escalator and a “no, I really should buy it” and dash back! 😂 sleep deprivation, lack of eating, and severe time limitations combined with a slowly browsing elderly parent in an outing… it must make for quite the entertainment. I’m usually a little loopy by the time we hit Walmart, even with DH, but shopping with mom? 🙄 salt shakers and dishes and hoarding… but you won’t actually buy the underwear you need 🤦‍♀️
Tax photo: seven chickens here… I swear! Mama is good at hiding these ones.

Ya I buy fame gate hinges and chicken wire. Now I get ads for all sorts of livestock gadgets hahaha

Yeah, but with chickens I’ve found the overwhelming solution to most medical issues is very quick, and involves no rehabilitation. Unless you’re crazy like me and take in every injured, sick, or stray animal that you can… lol
Which is why I stopped going to livestock sales!
