My sweet boy is not doing any better. In fact, this morning his eyes looked extremely yellow...like my husband's Husky when his body systems started shutting down in old age. It is time. If it is Mareks, then it has definitely spread to some organs, as @BY Bob suspected. I'll snuggle with him for a bit before, and tell him what a wonderful boy he is. I wonder just how much they understand by body language and tone. I hope he knows I love him.💔:hit💔

✝️🪦 Rest in peace, my sweet boy. May you be strong and well and have all the hens you wish for on the other side.❤️
Oh gosh, I’m so sorry.

The Final Name

So we are left with Lady Legbar as our final name recipient. Everyone should understand how important this name is to me. I could not enter into this lightly.

Many names were considered. The favorite before she arrived was Galadriel staying along the LOTR theme of strong women with Éowyn. But when she got here it did not feel right.

Then I considered Fendi to go along with Gucci and Posi (pronounced pozzie, short for Positano). They did not suit her.

Here is our girl.

As I sat watching her it suddenly came to me and I think it is the perfect name. It pays tribute to our leghorns of old and brings their memory forward to today. In fact it brings a tear to my eye as I type this.

And best of all, it suits her

 Glynda

For those that have not read the entire thread. It connects back to our leghorn

And in celebration, some music.
I love it, Bob!

Coffee is brewing. The next few days will be interesting. 37F this morning, predicted to hit 90F by Monday. 32F and feels like 28F at work this morning. Glad it warms up by the time I get there and glad the Littles like to snuggle together. The Bigs like their space, so winter will be fun :barnie. The challenges of growing anything around here.

Mera and Primula

Nox was off exploring....directly behind me. It's unusual for these 6 to be so close. The adults usually crowd in, but I didn't bring treats so they headed for bed while these played a bit longer.
All so beautiful!
