Hey everyone. We are finally home, she ended up having surgery this afternoon to put a plate in. I figured she would need surgery but I was thinking more like tomorrow or Wednesday. She was not happy and at one point I thought I would have to tie her down to the bed. She was not prepared to hear surgery this morning and her anxiety kicked into high gear. She is resting now but is as hateful as a black snake. I'll take it though because the worst is now behind us. This will take 2 to 3 months to fully heal and she is not allowed back on the horse until then.
Well I am glad she is done with the surgery and can focus on recovery.
Hope also you are feeling a bit better than you were.

I'm sorry you and your daughter are going through such a painful event. Poor kid.

I was looking for you to see an update ❤️

Oh poor Rosie, it’s a hard thing but it is what it is.

So is she home now?

How are you feeling? Boy have you had a crazy few months ! I just want to give you a hug and sit and watch the chickies with you.

Ok give Rosie a hug also, I will send plenty of horse pics just for her to enjoy- you rest now.

I have fallen afoul of this myself. I'm not certain of an easy solution. I know that no one is going to be upset if you offer well wishes after something tragic has occurred. We all understand the spirit in which it is given.

There are times I also struggle with posting something funny or cute when some one is dealing with a difficult situation. I still pack that away and move forward. I think that everyone understands by now and I hope comes for some fun even in times of tragedy.
But it feels insincere to write or read three posts or more in a row that go joke, sympathy and comfort, joke.

@BY Bob

Was looking for an update on Gucci after her eggcitement yesterday (hope you are good too 🤗). I hope no lingering problems…?

In case I missed here is the obligatory tax if so 😊

I have a kid who responds that way. Better to get surprised and get it over with than have to worry/be in pain for several days, possibly with more damage being done during the interim. Am I right in guessing the ban of horse back is the greater reason for the attitude? Nothing says she can't spend time with the horses: 1 handed curry comb is still attention and likely much loved by the 4 legged friend.

That is a lot of money whichever way you look at it! Good on you and DH for cutting back to celebratory beer only.
When my Dad turned 80 he declared that he was changing his habits and was going to have bacon for breakfast every morning and beer for lunch every day. He also declared he would have cream every day. On top of berries if I insisted but otherwise ‘neat’ with a spoon from the pot.
And that is exactly what he did for the next 15+ years.
He gave up smoking at 16 when he left school because then he had to start paying for cigarettes himself.
:lau
He was quite a character and I still miss him.
Tax: Baby Roadrunners from the archives. Day two with me and they already understood the importance of showing their fluffy butts.

Note taken! This is the diet I will adopt when I turn 80.
