Thankfully for now yes. I just heard from one of my uncles that water got up 3 feet into his house but he and his family are ok. Mom just headed down to the barn to check it out. The ground is saturated, and even though water has not gotten into the stalls, it is a mess, especially Louis. We were just offered to move all 3 temporarily down there. To be honest, we probably will but that brings up another headache. The barn has been known to flood as well so even if they are moved, instead of looking out the living room window, we will be taking walks down there to check on the situation.
Such a worry for you, can you just keep the horses in the paddock rather than stables ? Or does the paddock also flood?….

Hopefully the chickens will be ok, of course they can get up in trees if need be.

How are the new chicks?

Ok I am thinking good thought still for you and your family. I will check in later.

Happy Friday everyone from the fluffy butts at the Chicken Palace.

What happens if you put her on the grass ??? Might be good to see her friends running about…
She is only in her bucket for tube feeding. I posted that because I had posted one a while back where she looked pretty awful in the bucket. This one she is more alert.
Right now she is out in the shade under the butterfly bush. I have to be around because the Roadrunners can be merciless and also because the hawk convention seems to be having a reunion.
She just doesn’t move around much which is concerning.

Now seems like a lovely time to take off the down jacket, as long as she hides in the shade. Several times over the last few days in the evening, when I peel off the soaked layers and attempt to air dry, the chickens have started to go off and alarm. More often than not I have utter the phase “duck pants, I don’t care if some trespasser is scarred for life by the blinding whiteness of my legs” and just run out to check them… 😂 good thing my neighbours are a solid mile away.
Glad someone else has pasty white legs that glow in the dark 🤭🤭🤭

Enough to scare the horses at 2am 😊

Oh that’s good she can see and do if she wants. I guess you’re doing physio then, give it time, she is young and as long as she is eating and holding her weight ok….
