Go to a dermatologist for a skin check and you will get lots of positive endorsement of your pasty white legs. Mine called my spherical white belly 'a thing of beauty'! Dermatologists do not like the sun!
After spending the majority of the past five years basically living outside in the glow of the burning death orb, I have finally developed the melanin in my arms (from the t shirt line down) and face. I have been better about applying my SPF 60 the past two years in the summer, and so haven’t really turned my other traditional summer colour, ā€œLobster, oh my… it hurts so bad I cannot sleep, Redā€ in quite some time šŸ˜‚ This is is mostly due to my fathers incessant nagging about it, but after multiple rounds of skin Cancer from the late 1970’s through to mid 2000 of working in lawn maintenance in full sun without any sunscreen, he can nag me all he wants on this. Luckily, I almost always wear t shirts and long pants, so (usually) no tourists are harmed by the sight of my horrific farmers tan. DH, also of Scottish descent has gotten a few good crispings in, and the sight of him shirtless is also quite the epic contrast! Note: breaking out in laughter and telling your tooless significant other that they look like they are wearing a white t shirt is apparently not appropriate…

Chicken tax: another pale boyo Sammy has clearly been keeping clean in the forest dirt… I think shocking whiteness suits him well.

Sunset this evening.View attachment 3204890 Storm trying to blow up from the south, Hector tried to mount (and cornered) Cuckoo in the coop. Finally enough to get Cheetah to hop down and go after him. Half the Littles hunkered down I side the olive trees (Whiskey went back out to get them). Maizie got lonely (or something) without Whiskey so decided my shoulder/head was a comforting place to settle. Wound up moving across the coop with her so she could hop off on the lower cross roost. Took the above pic on my way back in after the crazies finally settled and the doors were secured. Still no storm, just the wind from the edges.

Edit: can smell the rain, though
Wonderful story of night time 'drama'! Glad Cheetah is stepping up, and what a good boy, Whiskey, going out to round up the 'missing' girls. For him to be good like that so young...very promising!!! And how sweet.:love..to be a comfort to the lonely gal Maizie. Glad she didn't cecal poop while up there :sick. But, isn't that just the ultimate compliment by a chicken...to want to be on you instead of alone on their roost at dark!ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

P.S. Hope it rains for you!

P.P.S. Both you @rural mouse & @BY Bob have such a way with telling stories. Both of you need to write books!!!!!!!!

I had never heard of that breed before. Similar (but different) to the Maine Coon, it seems.

Tax:
Anyone ever seen an egg with an umbilical cord before???? [Yes, it was a very soft shelled egg]

Wow Blanche was laying eggs like that , minus the appendage! Looks like the membrane is misformed… ? How old is your hen that laid this? What breed?
