Maybe one day she will be top chicken - which would be quite something from the pathetic 3-week old in a plastic boot!
Not sure if you have posted anything with Bella’s leg, I have not seen any posts or photos/videos. Did the vet say anything about the leg??

I haven’t the leg is hard to assess because she is generally so weak. The vet noticed it was strange but nothing beyond that.
The vet and I agreed that job #1 was hydration and any kind of nutrient intake.
In a funny way the fact that I am worried about her leg may be a good sign that basic hydration is less of an issue. Though she does not drink!
I will see if I can get some pictures of the leg issue.

My nerves are shot
This morning Bella still had a fullish crop but not completely so and therefore I gave her a tube feed. After that she had some corn and I picked her up and put her in her favorite spot in the shade under the butterfly bush.
Naturally Bernadette and Lulu hung out nearby and kept her company.
Everything was lovely and peaceful.
Maggie came by and although Bella was on alert, Maggie just pruned a few leaves from around her and continued to hang out with the Hooligans.
So peaceful.
I went inside to do some stuff and heard Lulu making a terrible noise (I mean even more so than usual).
I rushed out to find Minnie trying to kill Bella. This was no 'let me remind you about the pecking order' kind of thing. Minnie was going for total anihilation.
As I was rushing over I saw Bernadette (who remember is as brave as a bear) rush in and take on Minnie. Again, this was serious, she was hackles raised and feet going for Minnie's head.
When I reached Bella I really thought she might be dead. She was on her back with her legs curled up - like you sometimes find dead songbirds in the woods. One wing was stretched out and in a very un-natural position.
I scooped her up. I don't see any blood and I don't believe either legs or wing is broken.
I have put her back in the peace and calm of the hospital ward and frankly I feel like climbing in there with her!
Oh no! I will take two roosters squaring off over a hen or hen/pullet fight any day of the week. If one of my boys don’t get there first I will intervene. I do t really I tegrate mine so much, but I’m also not dealing with as many serious health concerns in the majority of my
Flock. Good for Lulu in throwing up a proper alarm, and Bernadette for coming to her rescue. :hugs

Good to know. Of course Penelope also lays whoppers also! But she is 7 and now only lays about once a week.

But she’s not above steeling eggs and sitting on them for an hour or so, I am actually surprised she hasn’t been broody, but she is happy to kick a hen off her egg and sit on it for herself for an hour, and move to the next nest where someone has laid an egg!
You're doing something right then. The tiny hens laying giant eggs usually don't live that long. Gives me hope for Twirp

Flash isn’t eating right. And she prefers to set on the egg that Coco laid this morning. (You can call me “broody breaker) ! Flash is inside with me now. I have to get her to eat something.
She ate a little bit of my leftover hamburger 🍔 and is drinking water, but her crop is not full. I’m concerned about her health. (I didn’t give her too much hamburger)
